How to log in
- Open your browser and go to pro.coinbase.com.
- Click Sign In and enter the email address registered with your Coinbase Pro account.
- Type your password and submit. If prompted, complete the two-factor authentication (2FA) challenge.
- Once verified, you'll land on the trading dashboard with order books, balances, and tools.
Enable stronger security (recommended)
Protect your account by enabling one or more of the following:
- Authenticator app (TOTP): Use Google Authenticator, Authy, or similar — more secure than SMS.
- Hardware security keys: U2F/WebAuthn keys (e.g., YubiKey) for phishing-resistant 2FA.
- Withdrawal whitelisting: Restrict withdrawals to pre-approved addresses.
- Separate strong password: Use a unique password manager-generated phrase.
Pro tip: Authenticator apps keep working even if your phone loses service. Back up your TOTP secrets or recovery codes in a secure place.
Troubleshooting login problems
- Forgot password: Use the “Forgot password” link to initiate a secure reset email. Check spam folders and ensure you control the registered email.
- 2FA not working: Sync device time (for TOTP apps) or use backup recovery codes. If using SMS, contact support for recovery steps.
- Account locked: Coinbase Pro may temporarily lock access after repeated failed attempts. Follow on-screen instructions or contact support.
- Phishing warning: Double-check the URL and SSL lock. Never enter credentials on a site you reached from an email link unless you verified it.
Account recovery & support
If you lose access to both your password and 2FA, prepare the following when contacting support: registered email, proof of identity, recent transaction IDs, and device/browser details. This speeds up verification and recovery.
Best practices for traders
- Use a dedicated, updated browser and avoid public Wi-Fi when trading.
- Keep withdrawal addresses in a secure manager and use whitelisting.
- Limit API key permissions and rotate keys regularly.
- Monitor account activity and enable email alerts for withdrawals.
